The Grove Chartered Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic is based in Celbridge County Kildare and was established in 2008 by experienced physiotherapist Barry Smith. The clinic has recently relocated to the busy and readily accessible M4 Business Park. The primary goal at the Grove Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic is to provide a thorough assessment, accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment, thus facilitating rapid return to optimal function. All assessments and treatment at the clinic are on a “one to one” basis with a strong emphasis on “hands on” treatment. As well as the various physiotherapy services provided, the clinic offers a functional rehabilitation gym with state of the art rehabilitation equipment. The Grove Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic was established in 2008 by Barry Smith. He has over nine years experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal complaints. Barry completed his undergraduate training with a BSc. (Hons) Physiotherapy from Trinity College, Dublin, 2001. He subsequently went on to complete a Masters in Sports Medicine at Trinity College in 2003, graduating first place in his Masters class. He has worked in private practice and has specialised in sports rehabilitation and musculoskeletal medicine since 2001. Barry has previously worked with Derry City Football Club and Confey GAA Club. He was heavily involved as Chartered Physiotherapist with the Irish Amateur Boxing team in preparation for the Olympic Games in 2004. Since 2001 he has been Chartered Physiotherapist to Barnhall Rugby Football Club. Currently he is also Physiotherapist to the NUI Maynooth Rugby Scholarship Programme. His special interest areas include sports medicine, strength and conditioning, osteoporosis and exercise in pregnancy. |

The physiotherapy services available are numerous and are used to promote healing and repair. The therapies are utilised to ensure the optimal management of a wide range of complaints. The techniques used are primarily “hands on” in nature with particular emphasis on injury prevention and joint and soft tissue mobilisations. clinic has recently augmented its facility to include a gym/rehabilitation
area equipped with state of the art training equipment. The service aims
to provide one to one instruction in optimal training/exercise for injury
prevention ("prehabilitation") and sports specific and performance
goals. With regard to injury "prehab" and "rehab", the training program is tailored to optimise function or recovery of a particular body segment or limb with strong emphasis on functional movements. This is achieved with strong emphasis on correct exercise technique or "form", thus maximising progress. Such programs are ideal for situations such as pre or post back, knee or shoulder surgery, for example.
